Morelia, Michoacán.- A woman, daughter of the municipal president of Tacámbaro, Michoacán, Artemio Moriya, had 248 thousand 531 dollars hidden both between the panels of her car, and under her clothes, tied around her waist, she also carried two pistols to Mexico, was arrested this Monday on the “Juárez-Lincoln” international bridge.

Sheriffs from the Webb County Sheriff’s Department and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents acting as a team, this August 22 detained for inspection the Volkswagen Jetta, a late model car, driven by the woman who identified herself as Yeishi M., 28 years old.

Between the rooms of the car, that is, between the bodywork, as well as on her body covered with the clothes she was wearing, the woman carried almost 250 thousand dollars.

And two squad-type pistols, one is a 45-caliber Colt brand, and the other is a 9-millimeter Glock brand.

Yeishi M., was arrested on state charges of money laundering and possession of firearms, he was confined in the Webb County Regional Jail, he faces bail of 5 thousand dollars for illicit.

The money was seized, he would have to prove the legal origin of it to be returned.

At the federal level, the woman continues to be investigated by the federal agencies ICE and HSI, there is no doubt that the DEA and ATF will intervene.
