Former governor of Michoacán disqualified for failing to submit his asset declaration

Morelia, Michoacán.- The State Comptroller’s Office of Michoacán confirmed that Silvano Aureoles Conejo has been disqualified for 11 months for failing to submit his asset declaration on time.

Azucena Marin, the state comptroller, reported that the former governor took a year and five months to submit his declaration after the time indicated by law.

He also submitted his conclusion of the assignment declaration 11 months after the deadline, which was November 25, 2021, and he submitted the document on October 29, 2022. The disqualification was based on the Law of Administrative Responsibilities.

During a press conference at Casa Michoacán, Azucena Marin detailed that the sanction implies that for the next 11 months, Silvano Aureoles cannot hold jobs, positions, or commissions in public service, nor can he participate in public acquisitions, leases, services, or public works.

The resolution of February 23, 2023 indicates that the administrative sanction for not presenting the declaration was for eight months, and three months for not presenting the conclusion declaration.
