ArcelorMittal has to migrate to green energy, photovoltaic energy is an alternative: Alfredo Ramírez

The steel company ArcelorMittal, located in the port of Lázaro Cárdenas, has to migrate to the use of green energy, and before this the alternative that has been raised on the horizon is photovoltaic energy, said Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla.

Regarding this, the Michoacan president, in a press conference, said that the person who informed him of the need for green energy for the steel company was the same management of said company.

In this context, Ramírez Bedolla asserted that Michoacán has the conditions that he described as exceptional to be able to promote the generation of energy from this mechanism.

“Here, in the lower Balsas, there are high temperatures all year round, in the north of the country, they have high temperatures half the year,” which puts Michoacán at an advantage, Ramírez Bedolla asserted.
In other words, he added, Michoacán has the weather conditions all year round to install this type of photovoltaic plants.

“We are analyzing it, disseminating it, soon we will work with ArcelorMittal, because they have to migrate to green energy, and photovoltaic energy is an option,” he added.
In addition, he said, talks are being held both with the companies that may be the consumers of this type of energy and with those who could be the eventual suppliers of the equipment for the installation of these plants.
