Process begins to consider Edomex as the third avocado exporting region to the US

The State of Mexico has an excellent phytosanitary status, as it has zones free of avocado quarantine pests, in addition to having zones free of bone and branch borers in an area of approximately 5,600 hectares, considering an attention of 11 thousand producers.

This is the result of the hard work carried out by Mexican producers.

Thus, through the Representation Office of the Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Federal Government, in coordination with the National Service of Health, Safety and Food Quality (SENASICA), work has begun for the entity to be considered as the third state of the Republic in the export of avocado to the United States, complying with the regulations and requirements that this country requests.

These tasks include the start of the restructuring process of the Plant Health Auxiliary Organizations, called Local Plant Health Boards, which are organized jointly with the State Representation of SENASICA and the General Directorate of Plant Health.

Additionally, avocado producers in the State of Mexico promote actions to ensure that their product is recognized internationally. This Mexican fruit has great quality for sale and commercialization in the market inside and outside our borders.
Likewise, the producers have been able to organize and legally establish themselves, which will facilitate the processes to meet the established objective.
It should be noted that the Representation Office of the Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development and federal institutions will always be allies of the concerns and illusions of Mexican producers.
