Army finds frag granade in Pemex facilities in Mexico City

A fragmentation grenade was found at the facilities of Pemex in Mexico City, prompting an emergency response from the National Defense Secretariat (Sedena).

The explosive device was discovered in a garden area in the north wing of the Pemex Tower, triggering a security protocol with the involvement of Civil Protection and Pemex Security, and notification to Sedena.

Authorities from the Miguel Hidalgo borough also participated in the operation to remove the grenade.

Sedena took control to deactivate and remove the explosive, but no evacuation of personnel within the building was ordered. This incident underscores the importance of coordination between civilian and military authorities in emergency situations.
