Mexico City.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador stated in the border city of Mexicali, Baja California, that his administration will not repeat the mistake of past governments by supporting any candidate in the 2024 US presidential election.

“We will not make the mistake that was made in the past of supporting any candidate from the United States. That is a decision that belongs to the citizens of the United States,” he said.

The head of the executive branch held his morning press conference at the 23rd Motorized Cavalry Regiment of the National Defense Secretariat (SEDENA) in the capital of Baja California, accompanied by Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila and members of the security cabinet.

López Obrador assured that he maintains a good relationship with both former President and Republican candidate Donald Trump, and current President and Democratic candidate Joseph Biden.
