Mexico City.- Norma Piña, president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), became a trending topic on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter), after several users accused her of treason.

On the platform, various videos and photos of Piña participating in the ‘World Jurist Association’ convention held in New York, USA, were circulated.

During her speech at the event, Piña criticized the Judicial Reform, arguing that it threatens sovereignty and subordinates the judicial bodies to the will of the current ruler.

“Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, the region’s experience with the erosion of judicial independence as a means to weaken the separation of powers in our constitutional democracies raises red flags,” declared the president of the SCJN.
